One one my favorite ways to get motivated and get unstuck in creating is by grabbing a black ink or a marker and scribbling with it on a page, then I begin doodling in the blank spaces. Another way is to pick 2 to 3 colors and I just start scribbling with the darkest color first & then I begin filling in the shapes with solid colors and or dooding. (see example)
One of my favorite tools to use is the Caran d'Ache Classic Neocolor II Water-Soluble Pastels. Thes are amazing to use like watercolors when the get wet or you add water to them. I use them over acrylic paints for layers and to make marks, the creativity is endless. Once they dry they are permanent. You can start small but I would splurge for the 15 count or the larger set of 30 count to the 84. I promise you will use them everyday or week! Click on the orange link to my Amazon shop!
